intinya, 1 prosesor fisik intel HT akan dikenali sbg 2 prosesor oleh operating system (baik windows maupun linux). jadi 1 prosesor fisik dikenali sebagai 2 prosesor logical. dengan demikian kinerja cpu dengan prosesor HT akan lebih menakjubkan dibanding dgn cpu berprosesor konvensional.

sebagai contoh: jika anda suka main games atau hobi video editing, maka kinerja software video editing anda tdk akan terpengaruh meskipun anda juga (saat yg bersamaan) menjalankan scan virus misalnya, atau menjalankan SETI@home :D atau lain-lain proses background.

untuk linux anda bisa mengetikkan command grepdmesg processor utk mengetahui apakan cpu anda mempunyai duaprosesor atau lebih. di windows anda bisa cek di device manager - computer - processor.jangan lupa utk mengaktifkan (enable) HT support pada setup BIOS mainboard anda.
